Doughnut Plant

the Doughnut Plant, makes 100 dozen big yeast-raised doughnuts a day, dripping glazes in at least five flavors. They deliver orders daily to Zabar’s, Dean & DeLuca and Balducci’s, and sells the rest for $1.75 each in the shop, which closes when the supply is exhausted, usually by 2 p.m.

Vanilla Bean Glaze with Blackberry Jelly

Coconut Glaze with Coconut Cream

This one was my favourite.

Creme Brulee Hole

Sheila brought these back for me from her trip to NY. I’m not going to say much at all about the doughnuts since they had traveled a long, long ways (about 24+ hours long?) and by the time they got to me they were quite a bit dry and stale. That’s somewhat understandable, though, I do recall having had 24-hour-old-doughnuts from Voodoo Doughnuts and those did not taste stale at all.
