Croutons
Good morning and happy Sunday! Nothing beats waking up and coming out to this:

Sunshine!

It’s been a dark, gloomy and cold spring so far this year. I think maybe, just maybe, that’s summer weather is just around the corner. *Fingers crossed*

I made a salad for lunch yesterday, but we were missing one thing….croutons! I did have a small hunk of sourdough bun left from the french onion soup that I had made the other day so I thought I’d make some fresh croutons.
I’ve never actually seen a recipe for croutons before, but I’ve seen my friend Kallie make some once so I thought I’d give it a try. Her’s were so tasty! For whatever reason it never even crossed my mind that you can make your own croutons until I saw Kallie do it. Croutons seemed like something you just buy, like…cereal. No one makes cereal do they?
After tasting my finished product I am pleased to say that I won’t be buying packaged croutons ever again! They’re so quick and easy to make and you can use whatever bread you have around. These are 100% better than store bought! They’re crispy yet slightly chewy in the middle. To me, a perfect crouton.
